McCullers Group Director of Development Planning Cortland McCullers will share his insights on campus master planning as a co-presenter at the upcoming Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Ohio (AICUO) Collaborative Conference.

Set for Thursday, June 4 on the campus of Otterbein University, the annual conference brings together college administrators from across the state to learn and collaborate on topics like business and finance, admissions and enrollment, student support, and strategic partnerships.

McCullers and University of Dayton Vice President for Facilities Management and Planning Rick Krysiak will present “Campus Master Planning in the Land-Rich, Cash-Poor Era,” an examination of the challenges and value of available or underutilized land and assets, the roles of housing, recreation, entertainment, athletics, and service- and experiential-focused retail, and the opportunities they present to diversify revenue, enhance the student and faculty experience, and support university goals.

“It’s a unique time for colleges and universities here in Ohio and elsewhere as they face new financial and enrollment realities,” said McCullers. “We’ll be sharing some insights we’ve gleaned from projects across the country about campus planning in this new era and how thoughtful planning and development strategies can make universities even more competitive in the years ahead.”

“The Collaborative Conference is an opportunity to connect our member institutions and business partners to help make Ohio the best place for higher education,” said AICUO President and General Counsel C. Todd Jones. “We’re pleased to have Corey and Rick share their insights with the group and hopefully spur some valuable conversations about campus planning and development.”

AICUO represents the interests of 50 member institutions throughout the state, promoting the benefits and contributions of Ohio independent colleges and universities, working to promote the well-being of Ohio higher education, and strengthening student financial aid programs. Located in every region of the state, Ohio’s independent institutions include research universities, traditional liberal arts colleges, comprehensive universities, single-purpose institutions, and religiously affiliated colleges.
