McCullers Group is proud to be celebrating its tenth year of providing impactful real estate development advisory services to clients across the country.
The firm, which specializes in sports- and entertainment-anchored mixed-use developments, works with municipalities, leagues, teams, universities, and developers on projects that bring communities together by marrying sports, recreation, entertainment, hospitality, retail, and other lifestyle amenities.
“Our mission from day one has been to create legacy projects with long-term community impact,” said McCullers Group founder and President Mark McCullers. “We’re proud of the team we’ve built, the work we’ve done, and the communities and stakeholders we’ve served doing just that over the last 10 years.”
McCullers came to Columbus as stadium general manager of the MLS’ Columbus Crew, working alongside legendary American sports entrepreneur Lamar Hunt to develop Historic Crew Stadium, the very first soccer-specific stadium in the United States. He went on to serve as the franchise’s president and general manager before founding his namesake firm in 2014 to share his expertise in venue finance, development, and operations and major event marketing with other organizations. Among the firm’s notable clients have been leagues like the United Soccer League (USL), teams like FC Cincinnati, schools like Florida A&M University, communities like Greenville, South Carolina, and major events like Red, White, & Boom.
“Relationships have always been an important priority to me,” McCullers added, “and over the last 10 years they’ve continued to be the driver of our business. We are truly fortunate to have some exceptional business partners who share our vision and believe in our value proposition.”
McCullers has created a legacy of his own since founding the firm. McCullers Group was recently named a Power Player in Mixed-Use Development by Sports Business Journal, joining sports properties like the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys and MLB’s Chicago Cubs along with leading developers and finance, management, and consulting firms on the 24-company list. The publication singled out the honorees for what it called “pushing the boundaries of mixed-use real estate development.”
“It’s been an amazing first decade,” McCullers said. “Recognition like this and all the opportunities we have in front of us should make the next 10 years just as exciting.”
