IPG MediaBrands wanted to consolidate four offices across the state of Michigan into a new global headquarters in Downtown Detroit’s. After a thorough site identification and analysis led by members of McCullers Group, IPG selected the Bedrock-owned First National Building. The rest of the program included completing demolition of the existing space, eliminating existing HAZMAT materials, adding a new staircase between floors, and making structural improvements to the base building to allow for an open floorplan with cutting-edge technology integration. The team did all that and more while also reducing the A/E schedule by six weeks, saving $870,000 in design and construction costs, finding 8.9 percent in total cost savings, and achieving Historic Commission compliance.
