Historic Crew Stadium
Major League Soccer’s Columbus Crew had the ambitious goal of building the very first soccer-specific stadium in the United States. Working alongside legendary sports pioneer Lamar Hunt, McCullers Group Founder and CEO Mark McCullers was brought in to oversee the revolutionary stadium’s design, construction and opening, as well as the ongoing management of the facility. McCullers also oversaw several renovation and improvement projects valued at over $10 million to what is now known as Historic Crew Stadium. The 22,500-seat venue became the spiritual home of U.S. Soccer, bringing a number of epic World Cup qualifying matches to the city, along with dozens of successful major sports events, concerts, music festivals, and activities. It was also the catalyst for an approximately $3 billion wave of future soccer-specific developments in the U.S.
