When the second phase of the $1.4 billion capital-improvement bond plan for Detroit Public Schools passed, members of the McCullers team were brought in to manage the program delivery for the largest school construction package in state history. The syllabus included 22 additions and remodels and 17 new construction projects. Through an extensive planning and implementation strategy, the CIP was delivered ahead of the owner-approved schedule and under budget, allowing for new projects to be added to the initial scope. The effort was so successful, the team was brought back for phase three.
